Starting this January, we’ve teamed up with The Works, putting Barnardo’s donations bins in over 450 of their stores to give you the opportunity to donate your pre-loved or new books, toys, games and stationery.
We’re looking for items which are still functional, but no longer practical for your children. Books with stories they’ve outgrown, games which aren’t picked up to play with anymore, and toys that they no longer need or want. All you need to do is take these to your local branch of The Works, drop them in the donation bin and we’ll pick them up to ensure they have a new life.
By donating via our Play It Forward scheme with The Works, you’re aiding our mission to support kids, youth, and families across the UK.
Simply bring your pre-loved toys, games, books and unused stationery to your local The Works store and drop the items in a donation bin. No pressure to buy these from The Works – if you've got any of these bits lying around at home and fancy giving them a new lease of life, just pop into your local The Works and drop them off to donate!
We are looking for pre-loved toys, games and books with all their parts, pages and pieces still intact, as well as unused stationery and crafting sets, which still have plenty of life left for another child to use and love. Unfortunately, we cannot accept clothing donations.
Our team of dedicated delivery drivers will collect your donations and ensure they get a new life.
We’ll sell the items you donate to the scheme instore to help us raise vital funds to support children, young people and families. Any items that can’t be re-sold will be recycled or upcycled in one of our recycling schemes .
