Donating directly to Barnardo’s high street charity shops is a simple way to repurpose your pre-loved items whist raising vital funds to support our work. When you donate to Barnardo’s, you extend the lifespan of your items and give them a second chance to shine whilst helping generate vital funds to support our work with children, young people and families across the UK.

Not only do your pre-loved donations generate much needed income to fund our work, but they also keep fashion and textiles out of landfill. By choosing to donate to your local Barnardo’s charity store, you actively participate in reducing waste whilst helping create a more sustainable future for generations to come. We make the donation process simple and convenient. Bring your pre-loved donation to one of our 500 stores. Ways To Donate Pre-Loved Products to Barnardo's

  • Order FREE postal donation bags!

If you can’t make it to a shop, don’t worry! You can order up to 10 free postal donation bags and post your items to us at no cost. Both DPD drop-off and Royal Mail collection are available - simply choose whichever works best for you. Order your free postal donation bag here

What we can accept

  • Good quality clothes, shoes and accessories.
  • Jewellery.
  • Books.
  • Music, films and video consoles and games.
  • Music (CDs, vinyl, DVDs, Blu-rays, musical instruments and sheet music).
  • Technology Including mobile phones, laptops, tablets, and camera.
  • Homewares.
  • Toys and Games.
  • Furniture – selected stores only.
  • Electricals, but must be in working order.
  • Antique and collectable items.

What we cannot accept

  • Damaged or faulty items.
  • Car seats and booster seats.
  • Mattresses including cot mattresses.
  • Soft furnishings without fire safety labels.
  • Pillows and duvets (unless brand new in packaging).
  • White Goods such as washing machines or fridge freezers .
  • Electric blankets and heaters.
  • Some small electricals such as microwaves, food processors and coffee grinders .
  • Baby bouncers.

We can collect your furniture donations, free of charge!

Selected stores now offer a free furniture collection service at a date and time to suit you. Terms and Conditions apply.
