Bradford College student Eloise King has created a collection of garments that combine two worlds that are not often seen together. By upcycling sportswear like swimming costumes, rugby shirts, football tops and combining them with deadstock lace, ribbon and shirring, Eloise has crafted designs that explore contrast, transformation and sustainability.
Her garments boldly juxtapose the strength and resilience of athletic wear with the delicacy of soft materials like lace. The result is a collection that feels playful yet thought provoking, versatile, as at home on the pitch as well as on the catwalk. By blending the sporty and the more traditionally feminine, she challenges expectations while staying true to her ethos of sustainable fashion innovation.
For Eloise, sustainability and individuality are at the heart of her design process. She describes herself as a designer who strives to create weird, one-of-a-kind pieces, with a particular passion for upcycling garments that might otherwise be overlooked. By blending the sporty and the feminine, she subverts expectations while staying true to her ethos of sustainable fashion innovation.
