Just Trade is a jewellery and accessories brand run by a small team of creatives, including three sisters, from our studio in Peckham, South East London.

For the last 20 years, we have worked co-collaboratively with artisans around the world, creating beautiful and unique products that are affordable and handmade with love.

We believe in a better way of doing business - one that puts producers, communities and the planet first without compromising on design.

About the Brand

Just Trade was founded in 2006 by jewellery designer Laura Cave, the eldest of the three sisters who now run the business. What began as a small project working with a handful of women in a shanty town in Peru has grown into a well-established, award-winning brand, collaborating with artisan partners across Peru, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Vietnam and Bangladesh. Today, Just Trade is proudly stocked by some of the UK’s most loved cultural and heritage institutions and has become a firm favourite among many independent shops.

The artisans we work with use a rich mix of locally available materials, including brass, tagua, recycled glass and organic cotton. From intricate crochet decorations to bold brass statement pieces and striking collections made from recycled glass, each product is shaped by the materials, skills and stories behind it.

We love what we do and the people we get to work with. We believe the long-term relationships that we’ve built with both the makers and customers of our products have been central to our success and remain fundamental to everything we do.

What sets us apart

At the heart of Just Trade is our commitment to fair trade and this includes providing meaningful flexible work that can be done around caring commitments. We offer training for the artisan makers we work with in practical skills and design process, we work side-by-side with them to develop ideas from the initial concept to finished piece.

Every product is co-designed with the makers and handmade by them with love. This has resulted in collections you won't find anywhere else. Our products are genuinely unique as well as ethically made.

Just Trade was founded on the 10 Principles of Fair Trade, as established by the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO). We are now fully guaranteed members of WFTO and have been audited against these principles as part of our ongoing journey towards excellence in everything we do.
